I have connections in Sussex, most of my family live there. I'm up and down from Birmingham a fair bit and can deliver stuff if you need it. As far as I know there is not an official club meet in Sussex but I could be mistaken,
Hi,

Nope, nowt down here. We have an open invitation from Club Triumph to crash their party at Rowfant House just north of Turners Hill every 1st Monday. I try to make it there but have only made 1 this year. The next one I'll be able to attend is October
Re: sussex stuff
We do have an Area Rep for Sussex (contact details in Dolly Mixture) but we've not heard from him for a very long time. Looking through the membership list, it appears that there are a lot of members in that part of the country. Maybe someone would like to contact the Area Rep and suggest that he starts up an area meet, or takes up the offer to go along to the CT meet? The details can then be listed in Dolly Mixture and hopefully the publicity will generate more interest.
Re: Sussex Meet
I would be really interested in a combined Sussex/West Kent meet up, in the same way that the relevant sections of Club Triumph combine a lot of their activities.

I know that there is a meet listed for Kent in DM, but it is east of Canterbury and is far too far for me to get to and back from sensibly in an evening given that I do not get in from work until after 8pm most nights.

Seem to remember the very nice chap with the brown 1500HL o/d at TDCIR last year (can't remember name - useless at that - Neil(??) rings a bell) was also from Sussex. Richard (clan998?), with the honeysuckle Sprint who I convoyed to Himley with lives in Chatham and would probably be game for something towards the northern end of the M23 too.

We don't need much more to have a nucleus of half a dozen or so. There might be the beginnings of something here if we can muster the enthusiam.

Re: sussex stuff
I am the "nice chap with the brown 1500HL o/d" - thanks! Hopefully will be back on the road soon as it is currently getting a bottom half rust removal and repaint and has already had a new webasto outer skin fitted.

I am located in Petworth, on the western side of the county and don't get home from work till gone 7.00 most nights as I work in Sunbury. I'm sure though we can find a way of those who live in this part of the world getting together more often. I would be happy to help out with coordination if there is another volunteer so that it is not all down to me.

(Should have been at Holycombe today - but DCD still hasn't come back from teh body shop yet - its taking quite a bit longer than planned!)
Good to hear from you again Neil.
We could alternate between top end and bottom end of the M23, see what develops?
Re: sussex stuff
We had a small classics section at Petworth Fete yesterday, at which we had a Dolomite 1300 and an early Toledo. ( Iwas in my Wolseley as the Dolomite is still being spruced up) Sandie, who owns the Toledo also has a '73 Minosa Sprint. Many years ago she used to co-ordinate a Sussex area TDC meet and organise the regional display. Its years since she has done anything, bit she is still a club member. She still has lots of Regalia in her garage - green and white Triumph bunting, a large Dolomite stand logo. She is only 15 miles down the road on the coast.

She is also keen for us for get a regular regional meet going again, but like lots of use who have long commutes in this area, is not so keen on a week night meet but a Saturday or Sunday monthly or bi-monthly lunch time pub meet. The 1300 owner from Chichester is also keen. Any thoughts?

She won't make it for the national, but will let me have the Regalia if we want to do a Sussex area dispaly at the national -any takers?

Neil

p.s DCD - dropped in at the paint shop on Friday afternoon to check progress on my 1500HL - new paint on excpet for boot and bonnet which will be donej Monday and its looking fantastic. All the parking dings gone, all the scabs de rusted, and its all shiney! Should be finished by the end of next week if all goes to plan -can't wait!
Im on the sussex/ hampshire border - Emsworth - at HPOM we talked about a local meet, maybe all of us talking it in turns to organise one so at least one was nearby.
Re: sussex stuff
myself ,chris curtis, debbie and alan bond are all up for a meet. Chris works away from home most of the time so it will be difficult for him (and his sprint will be sleeping for the winter), i work nights 1 week in 3 , debbie and alan are more flexible. it was suggested that different venues and dates could be arranged to make it more flexible. changing between say west hants and east hants so everyone gets a share of the distance having to be driven.
I sure Len would be up for some meets as well.
We have bee noffered a 10% discount on food if we use the Hatchet Inn on the A27 which may suit the salisbury area folks as well but less suitable for the people over your end david because of the distance. hence the different venues.
could you suggest a (kid)friendly pub your end?
Re: sussex stuff
I could suggest a few, although the odd run to the hatchett would give the sprint a chance to breathe. (although at the moment its gasping - won't idle!)

I think the churchillian where you met for port solent is child friendly, the hogs lodge (clanfielf) is child friendly (average food last time I went in, but child friendly)

Both more lens way than mine, but eay for me to get too. For the summer I'd recommend the crown and anchor at dell quay - lovely views over the sea or the ship / royal oak at langstone for the same reason

I only tend to go in ones that are child and dog friendly so I can be relied on for a few in our immediate area.

1981 1500 HL -daily driver
1980 Inca Sprint - high days and holidays (and any other excuse)
1978 Inca Sprint Engine back in - timing perfect (had to phone a friend !) exhaust next then wire up the overdrive and its on the bay
1978 Yellow 1850 auto sprint-notvery-alike - nasty shunt - undecided
1973 Mimosa Sprint - sold, awaiting collection end of september
