Re: worth it?
I have got the Jigsaw column coupling on my 1850 and it`s perfect, it goes straight on with no dramas, well worth the investment which happens to be cheaper than the standard floppy OE part. I did talk to them about solid rack mounts and was basically told that so long as you are using standard size wheels and tyres and nothing low profile, even for road use they are good and not too harsh. I have bought a set so will let you know how they go when work resumes on the 1850 which should be soon now the garden and drive way are done.

Re: worth it?
You can get the coupling cheaper from Rally Design...just over 20 quid IIRC.
Re: worth it?
I originally had one from Rally Design but it was the cast type and not the pressed steel one and wouldn`t fit properley, the Jigsaw one is made for the job and reqires no mods to fit as some people have reported with the Escort one although equally some have reported that no mod was needed.

Re: worth it?
Are those rack mounts worth buying? Have got some new poly bushes & wondering if would be worth replacing mounts.
Re: worth it?
You don't need a pair, one on the driver's side is what used to be recommended; the plate locates the rack on the other side with the standard arrangement.
Re: Coupling
No, didn`t have to do any mods. I used the same method as Richard used on his 1500`s, no probs at all.
