Re: MUST NOT BUY!
£120 all in would have it delievered to your door.

I bid on it to stop that guy stripping it but expected someone to come in at the last minute and lift it another £2! I would have been out of it then.
Mixed feelings?
I was begining to wonder if you wanted it, afterall you've just passed on a good 'other' car. Take heart that its an opportunity lost for mateyboy...I'm sure someone will snap it up from you.
Re: Mixed feelings?
Thanks Alun. I'm picking it up this afternoon so I'll probably leave it on the trailer, get some better pictures taken of it and relist it. With the offer of transporting it to the winner at cost I shouldn't have any problems. If it wasn't for the clutch issue it might be a more attractive proposition. I might get some help with that.
Re: Mixed feelings?
I reckon the clutch will be the fluid in the master cylinder having crystalised. I had this on ODD when I bought it; I swapped the cylinder for a known good one, topped it up, pumped it a few times and job done. Didn't even need to bleed it!

Interior looks remarkable; probably why mateyboy wanted it!

Don't forget to mention the Club repair panels for the doors when you relist<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
Loose the Mini and be 10 grand better off!
Re: Yep...
I'll paypal you something for postage as I won't be at TDCIR. HAve to go to a wedding which is annoyong.

Got the car back. I Could tell it was the guy from Practical Classics by the way his driveway was covered with an old Reliant Regal and some sort of Skoda. A little Fita 126 was in the back garden and the dolly was in the garage! He lives in a nice area and I would imagine his neighbours hate him!

Anyway, the car looks pretty good. Its had patches in the boot in recent years, it looks like its been ziebarted (its the gooey black colour under the bonnet). The front panels are very solid, the interior is very good, the headlining is the best I've seen. No rips or discolouration. Even the white paintwork is quite vibrant apart from the door bottoms, sills and wing lowers. The front wings still have their plastic mud shields inside them. The engine sounds very nice. It was registered on the 1st Sept 1980. Don't know how late that is.

In my opinion it was well worth saving from the butcher a bit further North. Just got to work out what to do with it now. Half tempted to hang onto it.
Re: This is the third 'decent' car this bloke has broken
Don't Paypal me Scott; as of today I have stopped using them.

Apparently for a bloke to list a car stating categorically the cambelt has been changed when the service history once scrutinised categorically excludes it from the relevant service is not in Paypal's opinion misrepresentation or misdescription and therefore in this instance they are siding with the seller!

Keep the dolly! Need some door repairs and cills?
Re: This is the third 'decent' car this bloke has broken
The Paypal thing is outrageous.

By all means, come over and have a look at it. PM me and we can arrange a suitable time. Its sitting on the trailer at the moment so easy to get underneath.

Incidentally Alun, what are the prices for those door skins? I know the cills are £25 a side roughly.
just looks like so much car for £100!!!
Not quite sure why but I feel that if it was in the same position as the first pic but off the trailor and taken in darkness (with the classy looking streetlight shining on it) that would be a cracking photo.....
