Ebay Items generally get moved to the "Ebay Items" board. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Neither Steve Wilkes or Simon's cars are originally magenta; is Jim Hylton's? I thought it was only used for '74 cars...?

paint

looking at the paint through the carpets looks like a typical triumph spray job insomuch as the sparse covering of the colour on the inside could well be a genuine one

E-bay 'rose tinter'

This car was 'on the bay' a 'while back'. Checkout the MG Midget "Round Wheel Arch" conversion and i'm sure a few of you will remember the comments.
Someone poss bought it for a 'quick tidy up' and oh dear, where are all the hours going<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> , as they do, as many of us know<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

I assume it's because the log book has been returned to DVLA as scrap.
Getting back to the original topic of this magenta Sprint with the round rear arches, I have a picture in a book by Martin Buckley and Chris Rees called 'CARS AN ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE WORLDS MOST FABULOUS AUTOMOBILES' and on page 399 under Triumph Dolomite Sprint is THAT car!!!
REG No HAW 180N.
Never noticed the rear arches before this, so unless there is another Magenta Sprint with round rear arches.......!?<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
And he bought a set of twin 40 dellorto's including manifold on ebay recently, out bid me!!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Al,

That's no bar to reregistering the vehicle, but it will have it noted on the V5 that it was previously written off. Not that this can be done for any scrapped car, even the category A ones that are supposed to be crushed. It's just a case of getting a Vehicle Identity Check so you can apply for a V5.
Interesting. many many moons ago, in the early 90's there was an article about a Magenta Sprint HAW 180N. It was a "budget" restoration but looked quite tidy (I think £600 was mentioned). I'm sure it was in Your Classic Magazine, and there was a center spread poster of it (Was on my bedroom wall when I was a mere slip of a lad)
Is this the same motor?
