Just seen this on ebay. Looks like my 1300FWD from the interior (apart from the dash) but a true Dolly from the outside. What's the story behind it?<br>

Well...<br>

Produced from 70 until 73, replacing the 1300 FWD. It uses the same bodyshell as the HL dolomites, but the drivetrain from the 1300 with a bigger engine and longer gearing. It also has a beam axle in the rear rather than the IRS of the 1300.<br>

Introduced at the same time as the Toledo, which was seen as a more direct replacement of the Herald, so I guess it was a way to move the 1300 upmarket a bit.

I bought a white 1972 1500 fwd some months ago, its now owned by a local friend. its triumph trying cross breeding, looks like a dolomite but the difference in handling is noticable and is a lot heavier steering at parking speeds<br>
I can get some pics and post them if you want a look ken.<br>
It may be with me at hpom in august.<br>

I got a call this morning from jill (the 1500 owner)<br>
She has traded it in for a modern car, she got £1100 in p/ex which is more then i could have offered her. i contacted the dealer who said he will get the trader who took the car of them to ring me to see if the trader will sell it to me.<br>
