Just noticed he's got 2 auctions for the same car, one @ £1850 the other £1800.

Hell! It is injected as well!

Someone check it out, for Petes sake! What is this thing!

Looks like one of the original racing intakes for twin webers from the formula engines that had the bosses already present.

The pictures are really small, but it looks a lot more like a bodged SU maniold rather than the weber item. Look at the angles on the inlet pipes, all the ones on a weber fanimold are parallel.

-edit-

Just asked a question about the injection system, I'll see if I can get some bigger piccys.

I can't see a bloody thing.

I had one of those manifolds and it meant that you would it would poke out the bonnet at a funny angle if fitted to a normally mounted sprint engine.
Hmmm...this looks very strange....also for sale are a manual P6 V8 at £225 fair enough, but the Jaguar 4.2 series 1 carbaretta (?) type.....8.5k!!!!

My thoughts:

I think some middle class couple has bought an old farm or steading, and turned up these old bangers in the barn. They've then proceeded to open a copy of Classic and sports car magazine, and deluded themselves that they are condition 1 vehicles (only dusty) and they can recoup a good £10k of their investment.
Hence the ludicrous prices on flea bay......

I can see the previous seller/Estate agent....."yeah you can have the cars, they're worth a few quid, will throw them in for an extra 2 grand etc etc" then produces C&SC....

Of course I may have drunk too much drain cleaner and be talking bollox...

Mike
