Having seen it at Stoneleigh I think it ws worth a bit more than that. Going to be difficult to say good bye Lewis. I still think my mate should have got it but he's still trying to get rid of his current car. Looks like it's coming up my way so I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
I'm very happy with that really - considering that 1850's tend to go for seemingly jack all on the 'bay of E, in fact, at all....and it does have some nasty grot, eh <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Runs like a Swiss watch though! Glad I replaced the manifold studs completely, was only 4 holding it on, had filled one corner of the bay with soot!

i think you did well as i know this car quite well....it had a patch welded on the floor....a total repaint on a car with low milage that originally came from near the coast......coach lines are abit wonky...and as you say there is rust coming through already......lewis if you look at the bidders you will see the prev owner was trying to buy it back.......yes i agree it drove well but i think the bodywork will be hiding alot of things......i did own this car for about 1 month, the prev owner was my brother-in-law and when he came into some money he gave it to me....after a month he was saying he missed it and i was quite glad to give it back as my yellow 1850 auto(sgp 684r) with 64,000 one owner car was alot more honest than this one.....sold it for about £800 just after i bought my green one.....yes i think you will reget it but i also think you would have regretted not getting the money for it and finding what lies beneath that semi fresh paint
all the best
Rob
