Wheel Trims for Molly ...... Worth bidding ?

#1 Post by Dolly Bird » Mon Apr 10, 2006 2:00 pm

Are these worth bidding on? Until I can afford to buy some Sprint alloys for Molly, I'm looking to buy a better set of wheels trims, as I don't like the "black things" that are currently on Molly. The auction finishes tomorrow afternoon, so I need to put a bid on tonight, as I can't bid on it from work.
you have to use different wheel nuts to use them. The ones for the plastic hub caps are like top hats and the ones on the earlier dolomites.... aren't <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

I watched the polishing, and i must confirm that the smile on his face when it was all finished made the elbow grease all worth while.

I've never seen anything so grubby come to such a beautiful finish before, and I will certainly be asking Jod and Susie to help me rub down the lumps my red one is showing at the moment.
Those....

are early Dolomite trims and I feel the urge to nick them if I see them on anything other than an early genuine article dolomite...like anything with a ohv engine or a plate later than N....<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Your car deserves its black dustbin lids....and is unworthy of anything else...

Actually I agree the bin lids look crap. I reckon 1500SE wheels look cool on an ohv car...or the fishnet alloys off a 1.1S Metro.
IMO the best alloys ever....
Brings a tear to my eye when I see a pic of my car as it was <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

Well not only has Molly got "black bin lids" on her, but somebody at some point has cut the outer edges off some "Ford Corsair" chrome trims, and attached them behind round the outer rims!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

Now that does look naff! But unfortunately the wheels rims themselves are pretty crap, so the "Corsairs" will have to stay on for now.

These would look good on a smaller engined Dolomite, I reckon.
Oi Mr N!

Quote:
Close your eyes and you can't tell the difference

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:">

I think the fact that Jod is a giant and he has chin stubble might just give it away! Mind you, he's better at the old Yam-Yam speak than I am. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Debs, I've seen Mr N's shiny bits he was going to sell you - they are ever so nice and caught my eye. I could always spend many happy hours rubbing them! Hmm, now which one of my cars can I put them on? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
