Fairly impressive weapon - not exactly to my taste mind. Not convinced by the bonnet scoop in the slightest, interesting to see another 'sprintparts style' rear boot spoiler (maybe literally? ha!)

Liking the Weller wheels, don't think the arches should have been modified shoulda stuck with 6J, side exit is a bit messy...

Erm.

I can't help feeling it's not worth 1000 either. It's a bit like that "group 2" Sprint at the moment. Unconvinced.

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Triumph-Dolomite- ...

This is the one I'm talking about. Hardly group 2 is it.

Mind you, if he breaks it, I'll have the steels, carbs, waterpump and some other odds and sods . And ignition.

Can't stand those steering wheels though! Erck!

Shame it got blown up mind.

I know its only a minor listing error but I thought it funny that it has a gold top facet fuel pump! I just had this immage of a bottle of milk in the boot. I assume he means a silver top or red top but what the hell!

Shame he didn't keep it mimosa rather than painting it that not very good black. The steering wheel is very out of character. £1000 seems alot for a car with a dead engine and all the bits stripped out.

The other car, unless it has some racing pedigree, I just don't get it or understand what makes it group 2 compared to any other road sprint??

I agree it is a tad steep even with the extra goodies. If it had 45s/48s, a hairy cam (did he mention the cam?) & LSD or even if the engine was ok...

Seats

#6 Post by MaddMart » Tue May 02, 2006 8:16 pm

By the way, anyone got some cheap Sparco or Cobra seats and/or racing harnesses?

I would imagine that alot will be on ebay or coming up. New regs for this year state a minimum width of 2" on the harnesses for racing under the MSA. Alot of people will be having to upgrade from 1.5" which are perfectly decent for what you need.

Check out the prices of Luke or TRS, you might be suprised at what you can get on a budget. My sabelts were around £100 each but then you are paying for the name.

Yes, a pair of black, Cobra Clubman seats and a pair of Willans 3-point harnesses. Would be nice to see them go to a good home...

These ones, only all black:
Come on guys! £1000 is peanuts

#11 Post by SMIFTER » Tue May 02, 2006 9:54 pm

Talk the prices UP for gods sake!

We have to get out of the mentality that our cars are worth peanuts if they are to survive as they'll just continue to get broken for spares otherwise.

I reckon that car has to be worth at least 4 grand

Imagine your cruising along at 40mph, when all of a sudden, out from knowhere comes this rat look black Dolomite, screaming its head off, it'll scare the crap out of everything in its wake! Money well spent if you ask me.

Shuddup. Want it now.

Too damned impressionable I am. Only a few months ago was I picking around a slushbox 130 coupe I found buried in a hedge thinking 'this'd make a nice daily drive'

In fact, this one. S'gone now (went back )

Oh well, on with tuning the green beasty to much the same effect.

Side exit or Stag tailpipes on mine tho?

BTW, yes Smifter, I agree with you. In fact, starting bid should be 4000. At least. BIN of at least 6
