1300 or ?

#1 Post by PurpleBargeKen » Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:30 pm

Just saw this on the bay. It seems to have too many headlights and dials to be a 1300. Any ideas
Seems decent enough though. 1500 looks and a cheaper car to run. Maybe not such a bad idea.

honeysuckle...
which I think is an early colour. Ive never seen a 1300 that colour but I did once have a set of 1500 doors with no door cappings this colour so I could be wrong...
Carl S has them now to replce the scabby efforts on the round brittain Sprint...
...look like they're out of a 1500 FWD or maybe a 2000.
It's got a real identity crisis. Seems strange to go to all that trouble then leave the 1300 motor in there. Mine couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding.

if jon had a set of 1500 doors that colour (which is not a 1300 colour) than its looking more likely to be a 1500 with a 1300 engine.
The 1300 was offered in Honeysuckle, the one in the 1976 brochure just for the 1300 is that colour

BTW, seen the very tidy Inca one on the bay at the mo?
No....

the doors were from a square light dolly...no wood cappings and in a bizarre plum colour too...and rare tinted glass...so a right wierd car. Was hit by a falling tree apparently and written off. I got them as sapres with a nice 1850...thats inca.

So this durham effort looks a right waste of time. Its so far away it may as well be in Scotland, bloke can't spell or write English, seats are black plastic...ouch fry your bum at this time of year, its got a rusty door and the wrong wheel trims. So when will low rent 1300 owners stop using the genuine articles wheel trims? Do they seriously think they will then go faster? Its gutless and will always be gutless...so leave it humble.

Inca just doesnt suite a cheapo either...its a Sprint colour. These should be sandglow or russet...pensioner colours...
(dives for cover)
Never mind diving for cover, you might want some sandbags and a steel helmet<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">

Mind you I quite like Sandglow and Russet.....

Paint

#14 Post by 1300mash » Sun Jun 04, 2006 8:49 pm

I was in Halfords at the weekend and they've got all sorts of seventies paint colours in there including Russet and Sandglow. It's not bad stuff really. Worth knowing.

Mind you, the lid on the Inca tin looked more like Mimosa to me!

Jonner's, i'll lend you the Kevlar helmet and a few sandbags before I throw some fireworks your way!
Gusset is nice and I'm no pensioner!!!
Seem to remember this car migrating from Oxfordshire (near to where I used to live) to Yorkshire earlier this year.
