Sprint Wheels

#1 Post by Kehoemj » Mon Apr 12, 2004 9:27 pm

Had a slight problem today, got a flat. Strange thing was I had just gone & put pressure in all the tyres about half hour before it happened, as one of my wheels continuously leaks air & always need topping up.

Is there any way these tyres can be lubricated or sealed on to the wheel rims to stop this happening again.

The abilty to hold air under a variety of conditions. 'Leakage' is normally caused by corrosion of the rim where the bead sits and seals (or doesn't seal). Have the tyre removed and tou will probably find that corrosion has occurred under the black power coating. Strip the powder coating off. and clean back to smoth alloy with wet'n'dry and sopay water.
Here is one I prepared earlier
<a href="http://groups.msn.com/TriumphDolomiteSp ...

Get your tyre centre to clean the tyre beading with a bit of Buffsol (have as sniff or two whilst they have the tin open <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> ) and refit tyre with std bead lube. This will last a good few years before corrosion sets in again. Ensure whenever you have a new tyre fitted, rim is cleaned <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
