Over the Winter my Dolly Sprint, OMK 172R, is going to get a few minor upgrades. I want to stiffen the ride a bit.

Does anyone know which springs are best, the heavy duty springs which keep the ride height the same, or the uprated springs, which lower the height about an inch.

I will keep the standards struts and shocks and not fit Spax.
Poly bushes are also planned.

Cheers,
Suspension: Springs and Things
spax

mainly due to the spax bashing on a recent thread? i'm fitting them to mine, but of course may end up changing them if im not happy - in reality for a road car I doubt there'll be much noticeable difference, the springs will be more noticeable.

I'm led to believe that if you want it a bit stiffer the ideal 175-200lb rear and around 225-250 front.

I got a set of spax fully adjustables and springs from rimmers, think the springs are meant to be around 175 rear and not sure what the fronts are, probably a bit more than 175.

while rimmers were very helpful with my poly bush ill-fitting trauma, I'd try jigsaw for the witor ones which apparently fit better.
Re: Suspension: Springs and Things
Richard,

Before you go for the springs and shocks, I'd suggest doing the bushes on their own first. They really reduce that slightly floaty feeling you might be getting, but with very little increase in harshness of ride. I'd think very carefully about lowering the ride height, there are a lot of bits that protrude under a sprint, 1" is about the limit in the UK, and I know the paving can be a bit dodgy on US roads.
