Poor starting

#1 Post by tangocharlie1 » Sun Mar 28, 2004 8:22 pm

Can anyone offer any suggestions, for poor starting on my sprint, the car starts well from cold but is poor when the engine is restarted after switching off for a few minutes (hot), the car has recently been fitted with a lucas 6v sports coil with ballast resistor not connected. Is the starting motor on the way out, or is there something else i should check first. i have electronic ignition waiting to fit will this solve the problem or should i try and sort out poor starting first before complicating the issue by adding elctronic ignition at this stage. any advice appreciated cheers!!! <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START : --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END-->

That was the problem I had last year with my Sprint. It was indeed a loose ballast resistor wire on the starter.
