Hi, its me again.

My 1300FWD broke down on Saturday morning and I have not got a clue what is wrong. One second it was running perfectly, the next not at all - no misfiring, coughing, puttering to a halt. Just on then off. I was idling in a small queue of traffic so the engine was not under load. It had started perfectly that morning (as always).

I have established that I have fuel at the carb (so not pump) and have fitted new points, rotor arm, condenser and distributor cap. Also a brand new Lucas sports coil was fitted yesterday. I now have a good healthy spark at the plugs but still she turns over but will not even catch, let alone run.

The only time I have ever known a car just stop like this was when the main jet fell out of the carb once, but then I had petrol peeing everywhere, and that clearly hasn't happened this time. The carb was rebuilt earlier this year and since then the car has run like a Swiss watch with good power (90 mph plus) and economy (33-35 mpg).

Anyone got any suggestions for a desperate man, otherwise the Thames beckons....<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">
