Brake master types
Brake master types
Cylinderical master reservoir = single line

Triangle-ish master reservoir = dual line?

I was supposed to order a re-seal kit for Rich tonight but I'm unsure what type it needs.

I know my 1300 was dual line had the same shape reservoir as Rich's Sprint but had a BRAKE warning light on the dash which his doesn't

My 1850 is single line and has the cylindrical reservoir on it and no warning light.

His is a 78 Sprint btw

Re: Brake master types
Oh and more importantly...

Does his master need resealing?! I'm unsure if it loses fluid, I'm 75% sure it doesn't but the pedal has two pressures. The first one does next to nothing, feels like the servos isn't attatched (but it is) and the second is better, unsure if its as good as the normal brakes.

One pipe from the master cylinder = Single line

Two pipes from the master cylinder = Tandem / Dual.

If the rear brakes are properly adjusted, it does sound as though the cylinder needs a rebuild.
Tandem Master Kits
Club has plentifull supply at £12.99 inc postage, which works out at £38.99 inc postage and membership, all just a 1st class post away.

We'll even throw in an exploded diagram so when you've got it in bits and forgotten which way the four seals two pistons and two springs of unequal length all fit together there will be less need for expletives

Not only that, the seals are correct for the cylinder, not confussed with the LHD tandem cylinder like some specialists seem to be doing

You can even order parts and join at the same time with a credit card, we make it so easy

Re: Tandem Master Kits
Blimey Malc! I don't even need a seal kit but you've almost convinced me to get one!

I'm suprised Richard and Adam haven't thought of splitting the cost of membership and then the member orders the various parts the member needs. Ahem.

Oh well, bit late for that now hey!
Re: Tandem Master Kits
A split line braking sytem needs split membership, excellent idea, and to think that at £13 each all they need is to stay off the falling down water for the one night, now is that value or what
