Head Rest removal...

Funnily enough Ive never ever done this....<br>
On a friends car he wants to swap his headrest in to a new seat and it doesnt want to part company with the old one....what's the trick?<br>
Surely it just pulls up and out?<br>

Well I used to take mine out quite regulary with no problems........ they just pull up and out.

...yep, it does just pull up and out - just with some of them you need the arms of a gibbon to achieve it! Push it in first to get extra momentum before it jams......<br>

As for headrest removal - I found the nest way was to carry the seat around by the headrest... No matter how tight it might be, how much it might have rusted in, it's bound to fall into a puddle the moment you try to lift it over one..

Can indeed be given by these headrests. Sometimes they have a naff little spring clip inside them that needs a good tug for it to let go. They can be a swine though, years ago i upgraded a non headrest model Sprint to Headrest spec. The replacement seats came with no headrests, but the slots and tubes. down the breakers and an old T2000 provide the headrests. Tug, pull, swear, sit on back seat with front seat partly reclined, fet on top and mucho tugging still wouldn't shift em. Stanley's knife through the back of the old seat (had gone west anyway <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START ;) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ) and a hammer blow or two on the base of the stalk eventually persuaded the things out. Needles to say, I chucked the clips.
