Inner sill repair sections

#1 Post by tdcsuffolk » Sat Feb 21, 2004 5:50 pm

Hello,

My Dolly needs new outer sills, and am guessing a full inner OS sill as well as the rear jacking point has fallen off completely... but can anyone tell me what the "repair" section sold by Rimmers consists of, please? Guessing by the vast difference in price betwen that and a full sill, I'm guessing it consists of not a lot - maybe a middle section? I will give Rimmers a call, but they may not tell me what I need to hear!

Thanks <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">
Did you see the Sill's Alun had at Stoneleigh,
Worth waiting for Alun's Reply here before buying elsewhere.

Haven't moved on to repro inners yet, most folk just seem to plate 'em up...have a pair nos originals as a pattern though....
The outers were good though weren't they Phil, made from zintec too. I put one of these on a car and didn't paint it for a month - no problem!

I have some NOS reinforcers, but haven't investigated yet. They get some of their strength from the pressed/rolled edges to the holes, don't know if my man can do holes like that. Would they generate much interest if we can do them? Thicker steel perhaps with no rolled edges?

...don't ring me, ring Malc, club spares secretary. He can take your order and then he'll tell me where to post it.

I'll dust off the reinforcers (no, you can't have one of mine!) and see what the metal man say.
