Sitting Comfortably

#16 Post by Malc » Sun Mar 21, 2004 10:20 am

I'll not enter the debate on if they look right ot not, but i've been resting my posterior on some very similar and firm Rover 1/2 Leathers for 5.5 Years now, most confortable seat i've ever had. ? is how well the 800 Reccys line up with pedal position etc etc in the Dolly.

Just the rears to trim to match then <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
Well its looks like i've missed some inappropriate profanities here somewhere<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o">

As for the Recaros, yes they are nice to look (but not about 20 times!) at but they wont give you the support of a full race seat which would probably look more fitting but I guess thats up to James what he does with it, Its his car/spine after all.

As for LewisK's post, it was a Joke, right? I'm not that old but is "l337" supposed to mean something? I'm going to sound a right duffer here but does nobody speak english anymore? Whats the world coming to? It wasnt like this in my day I tell thee.

Sadly teenagers do actually think this is normal english.

Happily for us it means they can only be employed as McDonalds toilet attendants and Tescos car park trolley pushers and proper jobs will belong to the pre 90's generations for the forseeable future<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
Trolley Walley and English, the forgotten language

#19 Post by Carsreunited » Sun Mar 21, 2004 11:32 am

I actually applied for the above job when I was at school and DIDNT get it! Next thing I knew, I was a Metropolitan Police Officer and now a private investigator in the city.

I sometimes wonder where the trolley walley carreer path could have taken me................

Graeme, I read the same passage and it just read 'drink induced' to me. I've often written the same 'stream of consciousness' style postings during the early hours of Friday after going out on the pi55 and can't make head nor tail of them in the morning. And as for the profanity, I only need to say Jonny Rotten.
I had and sold a Rover 800 Vitesse Turbo that I sold about 6 months ago after years of happy motoring (yes rare for a Rover). It had these seats and I found them very comfy and hard wearing. No quarrel from me, I think they look good. The back seats ?? they were massive so how/are you going to put them in.
Yes, mine certainly was a joke! I'll have none of that 'lax power' thankyou very much.

It's the kind of banter that gets thrown around at school and in the pub. I wish everyone was better educated RE cars where I live <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> although I am slowly turning them around <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Got nothing against the amount of work they put in, or the lengths that they go to, but at the end of the day <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/sick.gif ALT=":x">

Uneducated youngsters.

Slotting your car into 1st at 70mph to see what happens? Well, at least he knows now.

Personally I like the recaros. They are a very tasteful looking seat, and I find them quite easy on the 'sitting region.' As said they don't offer the support of a full race seat, but lets face it, full race seat with six point harness are a pain in the 'sitting region' around town. On that note, you must always remember to tell your lady friend not to wear a skirt when your car is fitted with 6 point harnesses.

And if I may quickly divert onto the 'max power' topic..

In Australia the car mags aimed at the small car market (ie 'Hot 4s' and 'Fast 4s and rotories') used to great reads. They used to contain excellent technical articles on subjucts as varied as rejetting your Webbers to building your own rev limiter, as well as featuring some articles on modified cars. Then in about 1998 things started to go bad...... Cars with no engine work spare a pod filter and a 'drone pipe' fitted with body kits and mobile cinemas. Bah. Now our roads are plauged with them. I blame max power.
