Attn Richard the Old - wet feet
I just read that you've got wet feet / water in the footwells.

You may find that the bulkhead space (under the vents in the bonnet) may be clogged up with leaves etc. There are drain holes there somewhere that allow rainwater to run away into the engine compartment.

If these holes get blocked, then water get into the passenger compartment through worn grommets.

My bulkhead area was filled up with dirt, pine leaves & sycamore helicopter things causing wet feet. Having washed it out and poked wire thru' the holes, they're bone dry.

I am glad to be able to report that the problem went away and I could not understand why but having read your message it all falls into place as the problem went away after I cleared out the drain holes that were blocked. I had not put the two events together.

When I cleared the drain holes out I cut away a small area of the sound proofing in the engine bay so that I could get at the holes from both ends.

I did not state in the article that I have produced a part 4 which covers the various problems that we have encountered since Claire has been using the car. We have not had any major problems but you will have to wait for the next edition to read about them.
