Re: Vinyl Roof
Julian, does this mean you now have a car? If so, tell me more.
I was recommended to a firm in Birmingham by John Abra (red Sprint at Stoneleigh in Feb) for the supply. I have a catalogue at home, but cant remember the precise name of the firm. I think it's something like Birmingham Coachtrimming Supplies. As for fitting, John used a fitter in Bedworth. I have no idea what his name is, but he seamed and fitted the lot for a very modest price, IIRC.
Phone me at home later in the week if you like (number in the mag under Club Treasurer) and I will try to dig out the details for you, and speak to John.

Failing that, I will try to add to the post later this week (out of the office tomorrow).
Found it...
The materials came from Coach Trimming Supplies in Birmingham. Phone them on 0121 694 5664 for a catalogue.

I am sending them a sample from my own old vinyl roof for them to match, so will advise when they come up with the goods.

SCOTT : Yes a white car was found and bought on Saturday. Most of the budget has gone on getting it, but it should be an excellent place to start. Will have to save up a bit more before it goes anywhere for the "TREATMENT". Rekon it will not be able to go anywhere till the end of the year as the quotes for the painting etc are more than I would have thought, which at leasts gives me a chance to enjoy the car as it is and get the feel for it. Send me your direct mail address and I'll send you a pic or two. Made some good progress with a few WORKS contacts and can now can start the scaling from the heritage pics from the actual car in the garage now !! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Cheers for now,
Spoken to John and..
.. here's what he said...

Hi Mark

W. Bowler in Nuneaton. He is in the yellow pages. I don't think he is the best but the last bloke I used was in 1993 has retired !

Draw your own conclusions. I think John had to trim some excess off before fitting the chrome trim, but the finished article looked pretty darned tidy to me!

Good luck!

Does anyone know if the vinyl on the rear pillars can be replaced or not. i was told that it can't be replaced because no one can re-form the curved shape properly.

rear pillar vinyl
I've got none on my 1850 it was totally removed when the car was painted.
Had an upholsterer look at it last week muttered 'no problem' and gave me a good price to redo.
His only question was 'does the chrome come off easy'
