Underbody and suspension paint

The restoration of the sprint is finally underway. I can't shot blast underneath, so can't get a really clean surface to paint over so there will be some rust residue. <br>
Options are<br>
Use either a killer like Jenolite of converter like Fertan <br>
then paint with POR15, chassis epoxy mastic, Schutz or stone chip . <br>
Does anyone have any long term experience or either of these products? Or recommendations on what to use stop the rust coming back. <br>
Any advice would be appreciated.<br>

hi mark when i done my sprint i removed all the underseal and cleaned everything up with wire brush then sprayed stone chip everywhere messy i then sprayed the lot over with smoothrite and finally sparyed the lot over again with 2pack paint seems to have worked well and i can just rinse any crap off with a hose when i have been out.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :D --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END-->

I'd go with epoxy mastic type stuff from rust.co.uk or similar. If you want to show off the underneath then ignore their advice which is to paint epoxy mastic on the underside then spray liberally with Dinitrol Underbody wax. Epoxy mastic I believe is pretty flexible and overpaintable if required. Stone chip is good for high impact areas however such as wheel arches and sills. As for suspension components good old hammerite is pretty good and has the advantage you can buy it in an aerosol. Haven't got experience of POR-15.<br>

Whatever you do it's imperitive that the underside is clean, dry, free from rust etc or else you will end up wasting your time and money on these underbody products.
