I changed the rear propshaft UJ at the weekend but noticed that my centre bearing has started to part company with the housing part of it. I have ordered a new one which I plan to fit this weekend, my question is, does anyone know if the centre UJ has to be taken apart to remove the big nut that holds the yolk to the shaft.

How easy...
was it to get the Propshft off?
I am embarking on this, this weekend?
Any tips? I've had a quick look and the nuts look rusted tight! I've started spraying WD40 in the hope it might help by Saturday!!
Re: How easy...
Pretty easy actually partly because all of the prop nuts and bolts were already loose anyway, my advice would be get the car as high as possible for a start (it`s tight under there) when you undo the centre bearing you will notice that it is bolted on to 2 brackets (one each side of the bearing) which the bearing housing bolts to, ignore them and instead undo the 3 nuts which hold the brackets to the body as they are on some sort of captive stud and so you only need a ratchet and socket with an extension, it means it`s a bit more fiddly to get the prop from under the car but still a damn site easier than messing about with a spanner aswell as a ratchet, as I said "it`s tight under there". Hope that all makes sense.
