One or two came up on ebay a couple of years ago & they wanted silly money for them, but haven't heard of any since.

Alun and I found one yesterday in the depths of his garage. We used the internals to fabricate a slide-hammer for removing Sprint waterpumps.
Feeling pedantic.
No shortage of sprint owners wanting one, I should imagine most do. Sprint owners with the depressingly large hill of disposable cash required to get one, now they are a much rarer animal. No prizes for guessing where in the Venn Diagram I sit

Phils right, Sprintparts are just about your only hope of a real LSD.

Does anyone know how many sprints came from the factory with the magic S on their chassis numbers?
I've got an 'S' code car.

Someone had the 'diff away at some point, though.

Did the later VIN numbers carry the suffix? The 'A' and the 'O' disappeared...

Mine was a retro fit by a p/o which I'm eternally grateful for. I'd hate to be trying to hunt one down. I don't think there are any fools who own a sprint LSD and don't know its value.

The sprintparts lsd is good vale for money when you consider an lsd for an Elise is North of 1k and an lsd for a TVR Cerbera is knocking on for £1500. Made in oz as well!

Apologies if the replies have been a bit piss takey but its like someone coming on and asking if anyone has Kylie Minogues number handy in the vain hope that she might have a threes up with her sister!
Only on Thursdays Scott; PM me and I'll give you the number. It'll be a couple of weeks before you get a slot though; they are quite popular...

the last few LSDs that have turned up on ebay went for more or less the same amount as the Sprintparts unit. And remember anything off ebay is likely knackered and will need all the clutches and whatnot replaced.

I reckon it is possible to fit a TR6 Gripper diff straight into a Sprint axle BUT since it won't have the 'centre thrust block' then the original tapered roller wheel bearing / shim setup would have to be modded to 'standard' ball bearings a' la Escort / Capri axle. [ this alone wouldn't be a bad idea ??]
I bought a Gripper diff and sourced some imperial ball bearings BUT have not had time yet to start the mod. --- someday soon !!??
Hope this is of interest, Ken.

Thanks guys...

I believe it was only about 1% of Sprints were fitted with the LSD.
Would the tran-x unit fit (same as TR4?). It's for a mate who for some reason wants the original unit and nothing else.

I remember the ebay units going through for pretty much the same price as a full car.

If you could check under that pile of hens' teeth I'd appreciate it!
cheers
Theres an LHD with an LSD on the 'bay. But it's in the US of A. Postage might be cheaper than Oz!
