Indicators

#1 Post by mbellinger » Wed Jan 12, 2005 12:30 am

Took the 1300FWD for MOT last Thursday. Bit of a disappointment as I got a fail on rotoflexes (now ordered from Canley's) and front brake flexi pipes perished (already received from Club stock overnight - thanks Steve). When the roto's arrive another enjoyable couple of evenings beckon underneath the old girl sorting it out.
Anyhow, the point of the thread is I got an advisory for the indicators on account of the fact that the tester thought they were too fast. In truth they are fast, especially when clipping along with the engine revving, but they have always been that way. From time to time they have bugged me somewhat and I have made a mental note to do something about it, but never got around to it.
All the Triumphs I have had before have had slow indicators which required a rev or two to get them up to speed. Mine are quite the opposite.
Will a new flasher unit sort it or do any learned colleagues have an alternative diagnosis?
I am running an alternator if that makes any difference.
Many thanks chaps.
