Sealing the gearbox tunnel

#1 Post by David6214 » Tue Aug 01, 2006 8:19 pm

Is there a proprietary selant to use for the tunnel when bolting it back in. It has some sort of black gunge which would probably suffice if I just screwed it back down, but it would be nice to know if there is something you guys recommend if there are any gaps.

just ypur normal silicon sealant from diy shop. if you refit without sealant you will be letting in water, noise ect as it wont be flush.
phoenix supplies (01823 660194) might sell the cork/spongy type seal.
