Dolomite Intermitant Wipers?

#1 Post by Leeds Sprint » Wed Sep 13, 2006 2:07 pm

I read somewhere that you can buy kit with a switch that is fitted to the wiper stalk and enables you to have intermitant wipers.

Apparantly you can even set the speed at which the wipers wipe!

Does anyone have any experience of such a system? Does anyone know where you can by such a kit.

And yes I am lazy, before anyone suggets that I should simply use the old fashion manually opperated intermitant method.

Thanks
Chris

I have one somewhere in the garage. It used to reside in my MK3 Cortina many moons ago but it didn't fit on the wiper stalk, just a variable relay. Don't know where to get one these days...ebay?

Maplins sold a kit to do this.

I thought that the wiper motor from an Ital did the job as it had the circuit included.

Was a long time ago I heard of both of these conversions though.

I got one of the kits from Maplin, got it at the same time as I got my maplin leccy ignition kit, it was only about £10 and took less than half hour to solder together, took longer to desifer the instructions it came with. Works perfectly and yes it does allow you to alter how intermittant the wipe is.

the timing is 5, 10 and 15 seconds for that. Isn't that a bit to long? Something like 2 ,5 and 7 makes more sense to me
