timing chain

As the engine of my Sprint is out at the moment, I would use the opportunity to replace the timing chain.<br>
I've never done this before. Is there anything I should know that's not in the workshop manual, or are there any tricks of the trade ?<br>

Undo crank pulley nut...lock flywheel ring gear.<br>
Note ignition timing...set to tdc no1 firing. Remove cover. Try not to turn sprockets..., Undo chain from top pulley and let it all drop off. Renew guides as per manual. Note tensioner. New cheapo versions dont have oil feed You can use new slipper with your old body for loner life of slipper and chain. Kit available from Robsport includes guides chain seal and tensioner..<br>
Adjust tension with curved gude and slipper locked fulll in. Then release slipper and refit timing cover. Check ignition timing. Ususally goes out a bit as jackshaft moves. Thats the bare bones. Have a good look at manual and ask more if you dont understand.<br>

Perhaps check the condition of sprocket teeth whilst you're in there...<br>
