sprint tubular manifold
sprint tubular manifold
Hi all, TR7 sprint guys have a tubular manifold, any of you know about it fitting on a dolly sprint?

Re: sprint tubular manifold
The TR7 one will definitely not fit without making a big mess of the bulkhead and inner wing that side.
There's so little room in there that the Dolly Sprint tubular manifolds usually go up into the engine bay and then back down. But space is such an issue that they need a lot of "finessing" for each car, making every manifold almost bespoke.

Custom made. It's pretty tight

Re: sprint tubular manifold
Never seen that one before, hope his engine mounts are in good nick, thats very close to the suspension turret. The only other one I saw took up the space near the expansion bottle.

Re: sprint tubular manifold
That manifold belongs to this car...
Re: sprint tubular manifold
I'm reliably informed that even on a highly tuned engine, it will only yield a few bhp but gives a bit more torque through the mid-range.
Re: sprint tubular manifold
You may get 3 or 4 horses but the main gain is, as Scott says, a better torque curve. If you're going racing fine, I considered it for my trackday Sprint but it just wasn't worth doing. Maybe one day when I have lots of time & money.
