So what are the best shockers on the market atm in your god like opinions?

I've got bog standard shocks and springs atm and might be looking to upgrade once I've got my SS exhaust on.

Sound like spax to me. Stone me like an errant nigerian wife if I'm wrong but I think they have the monopoly on yellow shox.

Ohlins are the best but I don't know if they do cars. They are the best because they are gold coloured. Costs about 3 grand for a proper ohlins rear shock on a bike, 10 grand for their proper forks.
I can't see what possible excuse they can use. The goods are faulty, they supplied them, they should replace them. They then take it up with spax. It infuriates me when retailers do this to people.

Got the cup thing back safely Phil. Don't know why I didnt suggest you drop it off to Jigsaw at the show as they were there. Sorry.

My commisserations Phil, this sounds just like the experience I had with them many years ago when they were supplying brake discs made eccentric to the hub mounts. I have only dealt with them once since then and that was only for a special offer during the last clearout they had. I didn't have the benefit of internet support then and gave in to their "lets make it difficult for the customer who has already paid attitude"

Stay with it Mate, ask to deal with the main man, ring him every day, ring him at home, (can't be too many Rimmers in Lincs!) be a proverbial pain in the a**e, stand outside wearing a sandwich board, make them give into you. As I said before, your contract is with them, NOT Spax, and with the limited use, irrespective of time lapsed, this is a manufacturing defect/fitness for purpose issue. They were sold as shock absorbers but have absorbed very little shock before failing. Get Trading Standards on your side; a call from their local office usually works wonders!!
Can a club really get embroiled in a legal dispute if someone chooses to voice a bad experience on a public forum?

I dont think anyone has said anything too harmful.

Maybe we should end our postings with 'this is in my opinion and it does not represent the view of the Triumph Dolomite Club etc etc' and use the word 'allegedly' in our statements e.g. Allegedly (insert supplier) are a bunch of robbing merchants cause they wont replace my parts.

Back to the plot, yonks ago i had ordered some spax from you know who and they were delayed by a couple of weeks but they failed to tell me that was the case. I rang and complained as i needed them to MOT a car and they sent me some more expensive Koni's at no extra cost by next day saturday courier. Maybe I got lucky.
Complaints

#25 Post by triumphdolomiteuk » Wed Feb 18, 2004 10:29 am

As I've stated in Dolly Mixture on more than one occasion,if members have any issues with companies who advertise in the club magazine they should write to us and we will do our best to resolve the situation. We offer no guarantees, but we'll do our best.Naming and shaming individuals and companies on this Forum may well result in the threat of legal action against the club, something we cannot afford to run the risk of.

Hi Graeme
It's an issue which until now we've not given much thought to.The fact is,the club pays for this Discussion Forum (though it is actually provided by Ezboard) so technically we may be liable for any libelous or defamatory remarks which may appear here.Publishing a disclaimer on each post,as you suggest, may be a way around this.
However, the club would still prefer to resolve any disputes in private, and in the past this approach has been very successful. We have a good relationship with all the companies who advertise in our club magazine and their support helps us keep our subscription fees to an acceptable level. This doesn't give a company free reign to give poor service to our members but if there are problems, the club offers to intervene in order to help both sides achieve an amicable solution. If our attempts to help resolve the dispute fail, then both parties should be able to give their side of the story through the pages of Dolly Mixture. So far, this option has not been necessary.
Humble Pie

#27 Post by SprintV8 » Wed Feb 18, 2004 10:14 pm

The Triumph Dolomite Club and Rimmer Brother's,

It was never my intention to slat anybody or company,
All I needed to know was,
1)Did any one reading this forum have a problem with shockabsorber's leaking from the adjustment's screw's.

2)I wanted a reasonable answer from the company and there supplier as to why the shockabsorber's starting leaking from such little use and to been keeped informed as to the progess,

I reget posting the Email to the company and offer them my APOLOGIES.
I also hope no action is taken toward's the Club in any form.
I will hand in my membership to save the Dolomite Club if needed and quit posting on this Board if required.
Signed
Did 'someone' ask you to put that post up as a condition Phil?

Obviously, I cannot speak for the Club as I'm not an elected officer of it, but personally I understand your frustration and look forward to your continued posts on whatever subject!

something you don't need to eat.
they sold defective goods,period.
you want new not repair of faulty units, they might never be right.
the customer is always right, full stop.
you are entitled to a straight answer from the person who deals with customer service and satisfaction.
you should not be fobbed off, passed to numerous depts,or took for a ride.
if they treat you shoddily they can hardly be expecting a glowing report.

nb.,this is my personal view and not tdc.
