Engine number suffix

Seem to recall a posting recently about engine numbers, and although the answers were naturally correct, I don't recall an explanation as to what the suffix HE meant after the engine number.<br>

I found it just a few minutes ago...HE means high compression. Strangely the code LE is also given (low compression), HEA (automatic), HEBW (automatic {borg warner??}) and lastly ESS (factory exchange)

I think I got TKW stamped on my TR7 engines head and a longer number.<br>
