Mart's Dolly Bonanza
Mart,

Haven't been up on the site since last weekend - away in Yorkshire wiv me Sprint all this week - got back yesterday. As I can't get to the old (new) forum what's the score on your collection of prestige dollies found in the barn? Have you found a storage facility and are you going to dismantle them?
Re: Mart's Dolly Bonanza
Nothing has happened yet. The 2 Sprints are for sale complete for £50 each & the 1850 is a freebie. I haven't got anywhere to store them but they're ok where they are for the time being. I don't want to break these if there is a chance that someone can do something with the roofs & get them back on the road one day. Dollyboy was interested in the running gear off one of them but I'm hoping he will take the whole car.

I have looked round these cars as best I can and, apart from the roofs, I think these could be goers.

Re: Mart's Dolly Bonanza
Rimmers still have complete roof skins <a href="http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk:80/cgi-bin/ ... . Would be a good restoration show wheeze and follow in the theme of recent years...you could join us Mart if you can keep your hands off your balls for a weekend...

Re: Mart's Dolly Bonanza
I do think if the inca can be saved it should be saved rather than broken.

that other inca one that went on ebay to anther toledo transplanter IMO could have been saved, it need about the equivalent of what I'm in the process of doing to orange, but i think its down to the cost of the bits needed to do the transplant really

I'd like to take the entire mimo-suckle and use it as a donor for my tolly sprint transplant but uncle alun has a pile of bits that can achieve the same result, although I doubt he'll let them all go for £50!!? mimo-suckle certainly looks beyond repair, even as a huge labour of love, although with the right motivation, enthusiasm and know-how you can restore pretty much anything and I'm sure people have restored worse!

just a matter of space Mart, im just about ready for a few cubic metres of concrete to go down and creat a sensible area for hard standing in derby, so keep you posted m8.
project white - AAARGGGHHH!!! too many cars!!!

The spring Resto Show is sometime in Feb usually, isn't it?

with all the practice at the autumn one, I guess we could stick a new vinyl roof on too...

Re: Mart's Dolly Bonanza
Resto show, gotta earn us 'sole' first place would that. Shame the 3 day NEC show is not 'Restoration Based', we could do a roof skin day 1, vinyl day 2, and a folding fabric day 3

I'm going to add a plan of my drive to the new forum and see if anyone can get any more dollys on it than I can....I'm thinking 9 with room for the landie (tow car)and mini - for the wife and thats about it....at 7 we are nearing capacity - watch this space for a sale soon - 1850 lovers pay particular attention.......

1981 1500 HL -daily driver - shocks replaced, noisy Gearbox, needs gearstick surround.
1980 Inca Sprint - high days and holidays (and any other excuse) - discovered a bit of welding required....
1978 Inca Sprint - SOLD - Went today
1978 Yellow 1850 auto sprint-notvery-alike - nasty shunt - undecided
1973 Mimosa Sprint - sold, awaiting collection beginning of October
1977 1850 HL - Winter Project Car
1977 1500HL - Been sitting 6 years, not bad though. Soon to be substitute daily driver
