shes still a little rough so a little clean around the connections etc..!! and a check of the fuel pump just to set my mind at piece but at the min shes running ok!! <br>

ill also do what Martin has advised and do a carb rebuild and also many other checks hes advise along with the rest of you!! <br>

Always good to have a positive outcome. The fact that you have a spare carb is even better as you can rebuild one at leisure.<br>

I know Jonners hates Strombergs, but all is fair in love and war and he is right about the diaphragms, especially with some of the crap quality replacements about.<br>

I now carry a spare in the glovebox - nuff said!<br>
<br>
Well worth doing the other checks and changes as methodically as you can. A good 1300 should rev willingly, and achieve a consistent 33 to 38 mpg, more on a run if gently driven.<br>

A good result though Nathan, and you know a bit more about your car now.....

I found a brand new diaphragm on top of my fridge the other day. I'll bring it to TDCIR and the first person to fall in love with it can have it.<br>

but with a 'berg the diaphram is alwasy the first place to look if ignition is all good.<br>

I think the carb Ken will have donated of his 1300 is an SU. You can fit this and it will be an improvement but you will need to change the manifold too.<br>
