As some of you may know I've been posting this question on various Triumph forums and I've e-mailed a few people. Dave at Canley Classics replied to the e-mail I sent him and he knows of a few 1300s in near-concours condition but has never bothered to check commission numbers but he says that he'd be surprised that mine would be the oldest surviving example. That would mean that the 4400 odd Triumph 1300s before mine would have all been scrapped and he says that there is usually a survivior out of the first 10 off the production line.<br>

Did Triumph really sell over 4000 of these cars in the first 3 months they were available on sale? We shall see...

I was browsing through some classic car mags the other day when I saw an article about the Stonleigh show (did anybody go?) and I saw a 1300 belonging to Bruce Jones (the restoration of this car is elsewhere on this very website!) I know this his car is a 1966 on a D plate (like mine) Does anybody know if his car is older than mine. I'd really like to know. I'd also like to pick his brains and be able to get mine in the same condition as his.<br>
