I'm competing at Castle Coombe circuit tommorrow in a Sprint event (at last! a circuit I know well!).

I'm the only Dolomite competing but there are also a number of TR's including TR4's, TR4A's TR6's, TR7's, TR7 sprints and TR7 V8's taking part.

I dont think theres any entrance charge (if they try and charge you just say your visiting Merlin Motorsport) so come along and watch me thrash the nuts off my old barn if your in the area.

I'm there all day from a bloody ridiculous early sign on and but the competitive timed runs start at 1:30pm. I should be going on at around 2pm.

There's about 150 cars competing including everything from minis to F3 cars to 911's so there should be plenty of action.
Good luck Graeme!
If anyone goes along to watch and manages to take some pics, could we have some copies for Dolly Mixture? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Re: Castle Coombe Sprint
Just got the results through - 11th in my class out of 15 but I'm getting much much closer to the other cars and just a whisker slower than cars such as the TR7 V8's and a couple of the slower RS2000's.

Car's which have been whooped by the Smifter at Coombe include a TR4, TR6, TR7, Pug 309 GTI, Pug 205's (1.4XS, 1.6GTI and 1.9 GTI), a couple of Mini's (including one of the hairy 1380cc modified beasts), Honda CRX's, all the Volvo's except that damn 2.3 360GLT by a couple of tenths, I even beat a 2 litre rwd Nissan powered pug 205 rally car, and was only 5 seconds slower than the slowest 911's and Caterhams.

With a bit more power and an LSD I should be able to dice with the big boys!

Roll on the next one!

Re: D8's
Cheers Malc

At present I'm keeping the events I enter local and probably only another 2 events this year to keep costs down.

Sprints I have/will be in are part of the ASWMC (association of south west motor clubs) championship and are

May 5th - Wessex Sprint, RAF Colerne
May 26th - Llandow Sprint, S Wales
July 5th - Castle Coombe Sprint
August 25th - Bristol 2 club Sprint - RAF Colerne (hopefully!)
October 18th - Pegasus Sprint - Castle Coombe

There is a hillclimb at Wiscombe Park 6th/7th Sept which I may possibly be in.

All Sprint events are free to spectate but RAF Colerne is only open to competitors and crew for obvious reasons. A Shame really as its the most challenging circuit I've driven at.

It would be nice to see some other Dolomites take part.....

....any takers? Its a lot easier on the car than a track day.

BTW I hope to make it to the August 30th Track day at Castle Coombe too provided I have the beast running again in time!!
