I think someone is spying on me.
I think someone is spying on me.
New to computers, but every time I am on ebay looking at stuff I get a little caption poping up with an eye and a no entry sign.
What does this mean, I am thinking somebody is trying to look at my computer!?
Any suggestions as Al is confused!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Either.....
Either you have a popup blocker of some form, which is what you are seeing, or a piece of spyware has made it onto your machine.

<a href="http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045 ...

Go here and download "Adaware" and then run the program. It's quite easy to use and should clean your machine of any spyware, if that's what it is.

Alternatively, you can try
- Spybot Seek and Destroy
- or Trend housecall here house ... (this is an online one, and requires no installation as such)

Best of luck!

When you enter a Web site using cookies, you may be asked to fill out a form providing such information as your name and interests. This information is packaged into a cookie and sent to your Web browser which stores it for later use. The next time you go to the same Web site, your browser will send the cookie to the Web server. Re: cookies....
That explains quite a lot. Only since I have been exploring sites like this that these cookie things have invaded my machine. As long as its harmless no problem!!!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

harmless??
most of them are harmless. they're usually things like remembering who you are when you log in to these forums and stuff like that...but...some aint. If you have ever stumbled accidentally <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> onto some "Big Women in Big Knickers" websites.....

Anyway, i would suggest you use something like windows washer

<a href="http://www.webroot.com/consumer/product ...

once a week or so. It will clean up all your history files and free up disk space. It will not completely remove the files, just the "signposts" to them, so after running that, use something like http://www.heidi.ie and clean all the free space on your hard drive (by default C<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

It all depends on how paranoid you are, if anyone else has access to your PC, and the type of websites you have visited <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> .

Re: harmless??
download crapcleaner. its free and should speed up your machine. There is also the microsoft anti-spyware free download that works quite well. Adaware has missed spyware that I KNOW is on machine which was picked up by the Microsft one.

One of my mates had 438 forms of spyware on his system and 9 trojan virus's. He liked a website called punternet!
