Shopping Dolly
Shopping Dolly
Thought I would share this with you all. After only seeing one Dolomite (some months ago) and descovering a toledo around the corner last week, I took the weapons of mass destraction shopping yesterday.
Driving through the country lanes the Mrs prods me and says ooh look at that Dolomite in a field! We get to our local ASD*'s in Boston (18 miles away) and pull up next to a Russet brown 1850 auto!
I would have loved to have seen the guys face when he came out!!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Took the blue dolly out for a spin! Mot'd till september and its an 1850 auto on an M plate. The chap doesnt know if its tax exempt though.
Drives beautifully with around 42,000 miles and 2 owners!
Now the bad bits, needs a boot and tidying around bottom of sills next to rear arches and the front passenger door has a bubble at the bottom. And could do with a blow over.
£400 ish quid.

The toledo was a 2 door in damson with brown interior 32,000 miles but blown engine and needs welding.
£300 quid... over priced!

If the suspension bounces around like a space hopper its the green spheres that have gone. That's the extent of my BX knowledge! Had one years ago.
Had a turbo diesel estate one years ago, lovely car, when well for a tractor but cost me a mint keeping the hydraulics alive. Nearly cost me a lot more when the power steering failed mid way on a motorway roundabout!

I just put up with springs and dampers now!
Re: ^
The 1300 engine had done 72'000 miles. Drank fuel due to the carb being way off. If you don't mess you don't learn <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":b"> It was a quiet engine and I wish my 1850 would run aswell as it! (minus the bad fuel consumption, I already have that problem!) The carb went to Martin Belinger which he never used due to it being incompatible with his 1300fwd and the fuel pump went on to my 1850 as I thought the old one was knackerd. When I bought the car I was 16 so couldnt drive, I used to drive it around the lanes that my garage was in. Theres about 1/3 a mile of lanes if you put them end to end and I managed to get 53 miles on the trip meter just going around them! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> I got a video here of the engine running if you want me to send it to you.
