This is not an Ad.......Honest

#1 Post by mem sec » Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:35 pm

Sorry Andy, but I'm getting desperate!
Does anyone have any suggestions over what I can do to make room on the drive? I have sitting outside two E30 BMs both needing work for the MOT and in my opinion too good to just throw away. But, I haven't the time or inclination to get the work done on them and now have a desire for a 1500HL as my daily car again. One is a 325i touring (F)and the other a 325i Sport (G).The touring needs mechanical work and the Sport mainly bodywork. My original idea was to do a transplant but this would take time and I've not really got the room. So if anyone has any suggestions or aspirations in this department let me know. I'd thought of Ebay but have no experience of selling this way and don't know how much hassle it would be.
A 325i Sport eh - abso-bloody-lutely fantastic drivers cars though. I rate them very highly!

If you send me details/few pictures, can advertise it on the retro-rides site - sure someone would be interested off there
If not, I could always write you a cracking eBay advert

325i sport AND a 325i touring on the drive. Drool. What were you in your previous life? Mother Teresa?

If the touring is red with black chrome and the sport the really nice grey with grey leather then I'm afraid I'm just going to have to kill you. Sorry and all that but enough is too much already.
Basically think dolly. To get an MOT it would need a couple of rear arches and there is a largeish, perhaps 3 or 4 inches in diameter at the most, hole in the wheel arch at the back of the offside sill. It could also do with a bootlid and there is some filler in the corners of the front scuttle. This looks to be an easier repair than on a dolly as the wings bolt on. The rest isn't too bad.
Thanks for the description Ian.

I haven't got a DM near me so don't know exactly where you are. Depending on how much it woould cost me to get to you with a trailer would have a bearing on any offer I could make.

Cheers.
Sorry I've not been about for a while, bit busy at work. Answers to two questions.
1. The touring needs clutch and exhaust and the engine in the sport is much better. Would also need a few odds and ends for the MOT. Eg some muppett has fitted a non ABS front hub so the ABS doesn't work and the light shows constantly.
2. Stone, just north of Stafford/South of Stoke.
I've just multi-mapped the route and it would be a total of 260 miles. The trailer I use is stored near bedford so I have to go the wrong way to start! If you are stuck, I can remove the Sport but I'd only be able to offer you beer money unfortunately due to the cost of getting to you.

If it was uneconomical for me to fix it up and use for a few months I would end up ebaying it. I would be happy to split anything above my fuel costs down the middle with you.
I was not thinking of a 1500 in a BMW, rather the other way around!!!
