What a loss. He had one of those rare talents where a 4 year old would be totally captivated by what he was doing on screen and audults alike (Well, at least myself anyway). I feel so sad for Terri and his kids. They always looked like such a happy family.
You have to ask though whether he'd wanted to go any other way?

Maybe after a few more years perhaps, but what a fitting demise? Not the sort of bloke who'd cope with enforced old age restrictions methinks?

Yep,a truly awesome bloke,i am always transfixed with any program of his.His passion, knowledge and respect for wildlife was fabulous to watch and learn from.I suppose,he was just very unlucky to be caught out.
At 44,he was far too young to go,but what a life he led.."Look at this little beauty" and "Is'nt she gorgeous?" will not sound the same again..top man..RIP.
Out of respect for a top entertainer I won't repeat the jokes going around.

He will be missed, I am sure he died knowing the risks, doing what he did best and loved.
I was genuinely gutted when I heard the news yesterday

Steve Irwin (God rest his soul) was a true ambassador for his country.

He was against hunting, promoted the protection of endangered species and habitats and was so passionate about the welfare of all creatures. On top of which, he was an absolute delight to watch - far better than your David Attenborough types.

He was a top bloke, will be missed by many and the world won't be such a great place without him.
