What's likely to be the fault?

If water is still there possible thermostat or waterpump. the thing to watch though is the head gasket if he has been letting it run hot this can cause the head to warp and head gasket togo.If its losing water and/or there is oil in the rad or the oil is milky coloured its sure to be the head leaking.<br>
Not trying to scare you but wouldn't want you to waste your money<br>
