**1850 axle going cheap**

#1 Post by Sprint36 » Tue May 02, 2006 3:16 pm

I've got an 1850 axle sat on the floor of my garage, which came out of the 1850 to make way for a Sprint item. It's complete with brakes and nuts for steel wheels, except for the little H shaped shims that go between the handbrake levers and the brake shoes. It was running nice and quiet as far as I remember. I have no use for it so I'd like rid of it in exchange for the price of a couple of pints (of beer that is, at pub prices). Located in Hathern, near Loughborough. Need both the space and money for my top secret new project.
Hmmm. I have a tr7 powerd dolly with an 1850 back axle...
I'll probably need it. Just can't imagine being any where near you for a long while....

I welded up my dolly 1300 4.11 diff and put it in my dolly! Haven't driven it yet as I sheered off a bleed nipple but I'm so excited to see how it drives

It's ok I know it wont last two minutes, eat my tyres and knacker my handling but.... I wanna do atleast one dohnut before I die!

Adam, you seem to be the expert on getting large parts of dolly running gear inside the car! Will an axle fit in the boot? If it does I may even consider dropping it off to someone who can make use of it, if I happen to be passing. I need the space for my latest "project". It must be of use to someone surely?
No, but it rests nicely on a reclined front seat using the rubber floor mats as protection. Need to belt it in though...

Have to wait til the next time we're both going to a show, then I can leave it on the ground near my car and you'll be able to take it without speaking to me. Like the Historic Motorsport show! Seriously, if you do want it, you'll have to keep me posted on what shows you're going to. CARS and the Rockingham trackday spring to mind, but if there's anywhere you're planning before that give me a shout.
I think it's going to be stored outside soon though, although that may actually help to clean it!
