Front Wheel Bearings

Thought that I would investigate slightly wobbly front wheel bearing on my 'new' 1500HL.<br>
Is there a recognised easy method for removing the dust cover? Mr Haynes suggests levering off with a screwdriver but as there is not a flange to lever against this idea is no go.<br>
I got one side off fairly easily by jacking off with a self tapper though the little hole in the centre, but the other side won't budge.<br>
Tonight I plan to weld a nut in the centre and use this to jack it off - but I find it hard to believe that this is the best method.<br>
