Sprint alloy wheels - what primer ?

Hi,<br>
I have had my sprint alloys shot blasted.<br>
What is the best primer to use on the back and around were the tyre fits.<br>

any aluminium etch primer. The yellow gear for window frames from B&Q is not bad

check the wheels closely for pitting before you bother with primer, otherwise you could be spending 3 coats worth just flatting them to get the 'right' finish.<br>
<br>
use P400 to lightly flat/clean them up, then if you used 'autosol' or similar, you simply wont get a better finish.<br>
<br>
it also depends again on what was actually used to blast them.<br>
<br>
etch primer has to be the base coat, then pre-coat / primer / undercoat, then colour, then lacquer.<br>
<br>
etch primer followed by hammerite for the black bits.<br>
<br>
polishing and waxing gives a better finish on the 'silver' parts, but requires more maintenance<br>

also, before I get slammed into the ground, dont use autosol to polish them if you plan to paint them.<br>
