How do I remove the lower wishbone from the steering arm? Removed the nut securing the two parts together, but still not clear how the wishbone comes off. <br>

Haines manual refers to a balljoint seperator & thrust pad to do the job.

There really is no way other than to buy or borrow a ball joint separator - they aren't expensive and you'll need one everytime you need to split a ball joint on the steering / suspension. The ball joint is a taper fit in the arm and will not come out without the sort of force that can be applied by the separator. <br>

There are 2 types of seperator. One is a forked wedge that you bash in with a hammer. Crude, cheap effective and almost always destroys the ball joint rubber boot.<br>
If the existing ball joint is good...no play and a decent boot then its worth getting the more expensive screw action type. Not cheap but worth having both in my opinion...<br>
If its all off the car a hydraulic press will also do the job.<br>
