Vibrations ... polybushed suspension ... ???
During the restoration I replaced all the suspensiojn bushes with the yellow polybushes from Rimmers. The car rides really well and is not to harsh with 1 inch lowered and uprated springs on KONI dampers.
But after changing the original seats for period RECARO seats I feel a kind of fine vibration which seem to come from the rear axle.
All mechanical parts that could provoque vibrations have been rebuild like the engine which is balanced, the gearbox has been checked, the propshaft has been converted to sliding joint and the rear axle has all new Timken bearings.
So I think that the fine vibration is normal rear axle vibration which is transmitted through the poly bushes to the car.
Has anyone tried out which bushes should stay original spec to reduce the vibration … perhaps the ones where the trailing arm is fitted to the body ???
not good vibrations
I have all polly bushes on my Sprint, I do get more noise but no extra vibrations. It will not be the bushes!!!
Did you rebalance the prop?
Is the exhaust fowling the bodywork?
Is the gearbox mount on the right way up? It looks upside down if fitted correctly, and vibration is terrible if it's wrong

Re : no good vibrations
The propshaft has been professionally rebuild as well as balanced and the gearbox mount sits correctly and the exhaust is not touching the body, as I said with the original comfortable seats you didn't notice it which shows that there are no really harmfull vabrations.
I just want to try to get it slightly better.

I shouldn't laugh too much adam. It's going to be something really quite small if it wasn't noticeable with the original seats. of course it might be the seats themselves not seated properly that is causing the vibration. Are any of the attachments etc. crossthreaded or not seated properly?

The wheels are balanced and you mainly feel unbalanced wheels in the steering ....
The seats are fixed to the original runners with selfmade brackets which are quite solid and you feel the vabration on both seats.
Someday when I find the motivation I will change the bushes where the trailings arms are fitted to the body for original ones and I will 'feel' the difference.

balance
not always the case i owned an alfa sud (yes rusty) but cheap and a tii and had a vibration and traced it to the rear wheels so balanced the rear wheels (on car )and it disapeared although this of course was fwd but it goes without saying it's posible for rwd to exibit vibration in the rear tyres
