Steering rack: grease or heavy oil???

#1 Post by dollyboy » Mon Aug 21, 2006 11:54 am

which would be best for steering rack gaitors?

just missed a nice re-furbed steering rack on ebay (which sucks) so I'm re-furbing the orginal with an uprated UJ, repainted, new gaitors etc.

I also got a pair of gaitors which were meant for herald etc, I was assured these are dolly compatible but seem shorter to me, any thoughts?
lm grease. I'm surpised herald ones are shorter, but if they are, get the correct part as they will soon pull off. If the gaitors come off, weather its grease or ep 90, the grit will get in and act as grinding paste!
