Have you tried swapping the HT leads?

-edit-

that won't make a lot of difference if there's no spark at the dizzy, will it?

Is the LT cable to the coil connected properly?

im 99% sure youve lost the insulation block between the points sprung contact and the seat, not sure if you know what i mean, the points should not be earthing through the seating of the sprung arm, the insulating block is a small black block with a lug that sits in the oposite seating area described well i know, maby some one can claify. hope that helps

There should be a little nylon washer at the bottom of where you tighten the locking nut, which stops the points earthing though the base plate!!
When i changed mine i forgot to put this on and the car refused to start even though i had a spark at the coil etc
When i figured out where the nylon washer went, refitted it and it started straight away!!

hope this helps
