disk brakes

#1 Post by andysprint » Thu Mar 25, 2004 10:14 am

Hi I'm having my disks skimmed and the chap that who is going to do the job needs to now the minimum depth. I was hoping some would have this information or could point me in the right direction to find it.
Minimum depth is 9.0mm which isn't much less than the new thickness of 9.5mm. Your chance of getting them skimmed isn't good. New one are probably the best option, especially as the standard brakes are barely adequate - the thinner the discs, the less heat they can absorb / the hotter they will get.
Otherwise a front brake upgrade that has been discussed at length previously on the Board here.
