Would welcome views. I am having my 1300 Dolly restored, the biggest hurdle is trying to get hold of new wings. I have been told that fibreglass ones never look "real". The odd new old stock that come up on ebay seem to go for silly money. The n/s/f has more filler than metal, so repair panels are not possible. Anyone have any views on fibreglass?

Fibreglass wings
Re: Fibreglass wings
I went to look at an 'immaculate bodied' 1500HL in Devon last summer as a potential reshell donor for my Sprint. Very nearly went for it until I realised the front wings were fibre - this was after a good half hour scrutinising it!

If they are fitted well then it can be very difficult to tell! (Smifter's is a little more obvious.....at the moment!)

New FG wings are about £65 ea +VAT; you should still be able to get good s/h steel ones for about £150 the pair......

Wings
I have fitted a fibre glass wing to my Toledo and once it is painted you have to look very closely to see its not metal. I brought one from Smiths & Dekins (Worc) and the fit is OK.
Re: Wings
Mine fits OK ish - its the 'don't sit on the front wing cause its fibreglass' note written in marker pen to detract suspension bouncing MSA scrutineers that tends to give it away<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">
