Wheel Arches.

Simon, if you are just after the repair panels, you're local motor factors should be able to supply these. I think mine were about a tenner each last year from a company called Selecta Panel. Don't know if they have outlets throughout the country though. This one is in the North East. If you do get stuck you can always try R***ers, but i think they will be pricey.
...think I might have to get some like that! They're just a bit tatty, and £10 doesn't sound bad at all! Quite impressed that they're stocked though.
You can get them from Hadrian Panels. It's one of the few that they still make, outer sill covers being the others. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
The website will even give you your nearest stockist, although they will probably have to order then for you.
Hadrian Panels. OUCH..

#7 Post by Davey » Sun Mar 28, 2004 2:18 am

Living in the North East i have used Hadrian Panels in the past, and with them being probably the biggest supplier up here, so have a lot of my friends. Most with dissapionting results. My worst experience with them was the purchase of Dolly panels. 2 rear w/arch repair panels, 2 sills, and 1 full front panel, which turned out to be 1 top front panel and 1 bottom front panel welded together in the dark. That i could live with after unpicking and re-welding back together. What really p***ed me off was, after carefully fitting them ,then painting and undersealing, they started rusting before the paint had time to dry. Hadrian's answer was to take them back and they would replace no probs. HELLO , they are welded to my car. The wings i had also fitted were originals from Rover, and then cost me £170+vat each and i was'nt to keen on skimming down the side of them with an angle grinder . Ended up having to settle for a refund and a lot of time doing it all again. No thanks Hadrian.

Only a word of caution.

#9 Post by Davey » Sun Mar 28, 2004 10:08 pm

I havent used Hadrian for about 10 years, "Once bitten twice shy", and maybe there quality control is a lot better now, but no harm in warning others of the possabilities. I later heard from an alleged very good source that the panels were stored bare metal untill required, then flashed over with transit primer when they were ordered, which, if standing for a while bare metal, it
is nearly guaranteed that rust will have set in.
Most of the panels that i, and friends , stripped the transit primer off, had rust underneath.
I know that you have to strip this primer off anyway before you apply you're own paint, but you should never have to sand and wire brush a new panel before fitting.
Maybe they have got it right now, maybe they bought these panels in from another source and it was'nt there fault. I just dont fancy the idea of having my car stand idle or postpone the work while the panels i've bought are returned and wait a few days for the replacements.
Cheers, Davey.
