Intermittant Wiper

#1 Post by Gibbonz » Wed Apr 14, 2004 9:02 pm

Greetings from NZ.
Has anyone ever put an intermittant wiper control on a Dolly.
I can purchase a Lucas product that will do the job but from the price it would need to be "Gold Plated'
Is there something else I can fit, off another car perhaps or dare I say it 'japanese'

Cheers
It depends on how good you are with electrics.

In the UK, you can get electronics kits from place like maplins that you can add to any car. I just about understand the electrics involve so most people should be ok with it<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> .

So have if you have a local electonics superstore - have a look in there.

Good luck
Glynn
PS. I didn't think that you had a lot of rain out there!

Anyone have a go at using the Marina box yet? I keep meaning to, but haven't had the time or inclination to go to the breaker's in the last however many months.

Just thinking getting one of those off Ebay and having it shipped over might be quite a cheap solution for you <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

thanks Glynn yes we get a bit of rain but not enough unfortunately.
It is a pain having to turn the wipers off and on though.
There is a small kit that i can get and have one running ok on my Herald but the Dolly wiper motor pulls more power and will burn the kit out in a minute.
May have to invest in a Lucas one.
Hi Rob,

How is it over there to the right of Aus? (thinking of coming over for a holiday, jumping out of planes and stuff <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> )

I had a look at the Jaycar website and to my surprise they didn't have an intermittent wiper kit. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

Speaking of 'japanese' bits, my spare sprint had Corolla indicator stalks fitted which had an intermittent switch enclosed. (only problem being that the bottom on the nacale doesn't fit back on with this mod)

Cheers,
Garth

Hi Garth and thanks.
Things are good here by all means leap on a plane but bring a photo of your Sprint because you probably wont see one. An 1850 is probably as good as you will get..
Might chase a Corolla stalk maybe able to modify it.
Aren't they fun these Classic English cars ??
